In Today's Blog, I want to share my views on one of the biggest mysteries of Modern Science, Dark Energy, and Dark Matter. Firstly I want to tell you that I am not a Physics Student, so I might not be able to discuss this thing in deep, basically, I love this subject about Space I want to know more about this. Yeah, let's begin.
Dark Energy:- We live on a planet called Earth, but we are very small as we compared our planet to the scale of this vast cosmic arena. Our planet is a pale blue dot.😅 So, think about the size of this Universe. How massive! And if I told you the fact that this Universe is expanding. How do you react! You may ask that this Cosmos is still very gigantic to reach and still it's expanding, Yes my Friend. If you think scientifically then you figure it out that Gravity, one of the four fundamental forces of the Cosmos, is everywhere. Right? You and we feel gravity in our day-to-day life. So, if there is gravity everywhere so Universe will have to shrink. It become shorter in the future. But, the opposite happens. The Universe is expanding driven by an Unknown force called 'Dark Energy'. The expanding rate is also increasing. For example, if today the volume is 1 then tomorrow is 3 and the next day is 8, then 20 then 60 then 160. That's how the rate is also increasing.
You may ask a question how did we become to know that the Universe is expanding. Let me show you an example. Let's take a rubber sheet. Then create some holes in it. Then stretch it from every side, you see that the distance of every hole is increasing as the sheet is increasing in size. Compare the sheet to the Universe and the holes to the galaxies.
That's how we know the Cosmos is expanding because the furthest galaxies of the Universe are constantly more further from us.
We still can't find what actually Dark Energy is. Because the energy is much stronger than Gravity that's why it's expanding.
Dark Matter:- Now, comes to another mysterious thing called Dark Matter. How did we see an object? Basically, the rays of the sun drop on the object, and when it reaches your eyes that's how you see the object in its color depending upon which color of ray it reflects.
So, what if I told you that the rays of light hit an object and surpass it. It doesn't reflect anything. Those are the characteristics of Dark Matter. And it is the majority of Matter in our Universe. Almost three-quarter of mass actually consists of Dark Matter, and we don't see them.
That's how mysterious these things are. The Universe itself is a mystery to us. Thank You very much. Bye.
